Install Opera Browser in 3 steps

1

Choose the right download

Select the Opera version and package for your operating system. Desktop users can choose a regular or offline installer where available.

2

Run the installer

Open the downloaded package and follow the installation prompts. Mobile users can complete installation through the relevant app store.

3

Import and finish setup

After Opera opens, import supported browser data, choose whether to make Opera your default browser, and sign in only if you want Sync.

Choose the right Opera download

Desktop and mobile downloads use different package formats and installation paths. Pick the version that matches the device you are setting up.

Windows Use the standard installer for a normal setup. Offline packages are available for 64-bit, 32-bit and ARM installations when you need to keep or move the installer.
macOS Use the regular macOS download for immediate installation, or keep the offline package if you want to install Opera later or on another supported Mac.
Linux Choose the package format supported by your distribution. Opera currently offers Linux downloads including RPM and Snap options.
Android Install Opera from Google Play on supported Android devices, or use the available application package when Google Play is not available.
iPhone / iPad Install Opera through Apple’s App Store. Updates are delivered through the normal iOS or iPadOS app update process.
Chromebook Opera for Chromebook is available for supported ChromeOS devices, with Google Play and an alternative app download path shown on Opera’s download page.

Is Opera Browser free to download?

Yes. Opera Browser can be downloaded and used without a paid browser subscription. Optional paid services such as VPN Pro are separate from the standard browser download.

Which Opera version should I download?

Choose Opera for general browsing, Opera GX if you want a gaming-focused browser, or Opera Air if you prefer Opera’s mindfulness-focused desktop browser. Availability differs by platform.

What is an Opera offline installer?

+

An offline installer is a package you can keep and run later without relying on the normal online installation flow. Opera provides offline packages for supported desktop versions and architectures.

How do I make Opera my default browser?

+

Open Opera Settings and use the Default browser option, then confirm Opera as the default browser in your Windows, macOS or Linux system settings so web links open in Opera.
